New Delhi, 02 Sep 2017: Sehwag Cricket Academy and confederation of Women Entrepreneurship COWE, Delhi is launching ‘QueensXI a Cricket league for Women’ with great optimism and open heart from 31st august to 2nd September. COWE believes that through leadership and entrepreneurship, women can become the torch bearers of woman power. We are currently present across India.

Queen'sXI Women Cricket League aims to give encouragement to women in sports. QueensXI programs aim to fulfill the basic needs of women in sports, needs that are identified through experts and certified organizations. This program helps shape women's passion for sport into reality by bringing them the opportunities, best equipment and experiences on and off fields and in the boardrooms across India.

Sehwag Cricket Academy (SCA) is founded by International Cricketer - Mr. Virender Sehwag. The Academy provides structured coaching and development programmes for amateurs and professionals in various age groups and skill sets.

Opening ceremony of QueensXI Women Cricket League on 31st august was attended by various dignatries including Ruby Yadav, Chef Gautam Chaudhry, Sanjana Jon, Shibani Kashyap, Suvarna Raj, Parull Maahajan, Leher Sethi , Ruhi Ganguly , Gaurav gupta , Mallika Chaturvedi and Nidhi sharma and Deep Bajaj.

Our biggest challenge is to support every possible woman in sport.

Narender Modi ji's biggest campaign says "Beti bachao Beti Padhao", we with QueensXI we aim to give a different side to the same mission ‘Beti Bachao BETI KHILAO", give her the freedom to play as well. We endeavour to bridge the gap of opportunities that are currently biased and available for men as compared to women.

WOMENNOVATOR - 2017 Dated 24th February

The Confederation Of Women Entrepreneurs – India (COWE) had organized an event “Womennovator 2017” in association with University of Chicago to encourage, motivate and develop the women entrepreneur in India. It has been understood that the growth of Indian economy can only be accelerated by replacing a roller with a pen and therefore this has been the focus of COWE from the day it was founded. A practical approach is thus being initiated through this event where more than 100 women entrepreneurs from around India had attended.

The event had various panel discussions which were welcomed by the organizer and Chairperson COWE India-Delhi Ms. Tripti Somani; Ms. Aditi Mody Executive Director, Uchicago Center, Delhi; Mr. Manoj Mittal, Deputy MD, SIDBI and Mr. Anurag Batra, Chairman and Editor in Chief, BW Businessworld.

Further, the discussion then shifted to the panel which discussed upon the Startup Ecosystem which has been expanding around the Globe comprising of individuals Ms. Jyotsna Sitling of MSDE; Ms. Robyn Kessler of U.S. Embassy; Ms. Neeta Verma of National Informatics Centre, Mr. Utkarsh Amitabh, founder, Network Capital. The next panel discussed on the mistakes that were fatal to an entrepreneur by Dr. Blossom Kochhar, AromaMagic; Nikhil Arora of WeWork; Jatin Goel, The Vault Show; Deep Bajaj of Peebuddy; Sagar Daryani of Wow!Momo. The panel was moderated by Amit Mishra, ID8 Ventures.

The next panel highlighted on how successful women navigate where Kanika Tekriwal of JetSetGo; Supriya Paul of Josh Talks; Preeti Monga, Silver Linings; Archana Gupta of KEI Industries Ltd.; Syna Dehnugara, CNBC; Priyanka Suresh Raina, Social entrepreneurs shared their experiences and knowledge on the same.Deepak Goel of KarmaCircles moderated the panel.

The event was followed by Mentor and Investor session consisting of investors and mentors respectively which were unique in its way where the Entrepreneurs were able to meet and discuss their plans with them. They not only shared their real-time experience with them but guided them on how to excel. Womennovator Summit recognises aspiring talent- 16th Oct 2016

Womennovator Summit aimed for right match specification of thoughts, ideas, goals and guidance.

New Delhi: Womennovator Entrepreneurship Summit 2016 brought together women entrepreneur from different streams on a common platform from 8 states of India. This interface was comprehensive in terms of issues, people and plan of action for the event.

The programme was held on 16th October in New Delhi.

This summit was a meeting of achievers, exponential entrepreneurs, aspiring talent from different strands of life. "Through our program today, we address issues of what it really takes to get best out of us, how can women entrepreneurs can optimize on marketing and business development strategies, discussion on schemes and grant from Govt. and financial institutions, with an extremely interesting segment of networking and unleashing creativity of ‘Walk of your products and services’, and definitely not to forget COWE Excellence Awards where we tender our gratitude to achievers who have displayed ‘excellence’ as virtue of their mind, body and soul."' said Tripti Shinghal Somani, heading Confederation of women entrepreneur (COWE) - Delhi as a Chairperson.

COWE North Women Empowerment Program on March 14th 2015

New Delhi, March 14th

COWE – North organized Women Empowerment Program at Department of Social Work, Delhi University North Campus, to create awareness for schemes and skill development programs available for women entrepreneurs. About 200 women gathered from all walks of life, EWS, home makers and entrepreneurs. The members from MSME, MAHILA BANK, NSIC, NSDC, NIESBUD AND Punjab National Bank were present as guest and speakers.

Inauguration was done with the ceremonial lightning of the lamp by the dignitaries. Speaking at the inauguration Tripti Somani, chairperson for COWE Delhi chapter shared COWE's vision is to build a group of women who are economically empowered, valued citizens of the nation by awakening the dormant talent, skills, practical knowledge and resources of women and combining it with dedication and commitment. The Chief Guest Shri M P Singh, Additional Development Commissioner in the ministry of MSME said there is a strong need to create a platform where women can harness this unique talent for their development and growth which in turn contributes to the nation's success. Promoting women entrepreneurs is the key concern, MSME provides the foundation for women who want to be an entrepreneurs. Association of MSME with COWE has been beneficial as they share similar objectives of catering to target segment at the ground level.

The first session was focused on turning thoughts into action. Seema Singh, GM from Bhartia Mahila Bank encouraged women through financial support, who intent to start their own venture. The bank also provides loans to women on low interest rates. There is variety of loans available keeping in mind the life style of women e.g. beauty parlor, day care centers etc. Mr Manoj Jha from Department of Social Work with whose cooperation this event was a success also mentioned the importance of training and financial independence for women.

Mridula Tondon, President of Sakshi, a NGO added the existence of the present schemes and skill development programs are of no use if they are not utilized properly and unable reach the target audience. She inspired the gathering by emphasizing on the importance of financial independence. Aruna Oswal who has been honored thrice by the International Presidential Medal, by PIP Lion Clement Kusiak and PIP Lion Mahendra Amarsuriya and PIP Lion Jimmy Ross spoke on women with special capabilities as compared to men, concluded the first session as “women is a gift from God to the mankind”. She metaphorically called Tripti Somani as the “candle of Hope” and wished her best of luck.

The second session was about how to develop business by overcoming obstacles through the skill development schemes from NSIC. Mr. Jasbir Singh and Ashvini Jha from NSIC shared the ways of marketing and promoting. He shared the tender and trade information. He encouraged women to live a life by choice than by circumstances. Shashi Kiran from NSDC focused on shared principles of developing entrepreneurial skills and inspired the gathering to become socially responsible entrepreneurs. Mr DK singh from NIESBUD further added about the training and education for women. He emphasized on the need for change in the core belief system and attitudes. It is imperative to have proper training for survival in this competitive world. He discussed various schemes available at NIESBUD such as ATI.

The guests at the event Lipika Sud leading interior designer, Mehnaz Anzari the Country Representative-India for United States Trade and Development Agency USTDA, Mary Jo Raising from US embassy, Sushmita Das from Delhi University women association and Rekha Shrivastav Magazine editor at Hi Writer were honored by the dignitaries.

The final session was held by Sameer Bajpai and P.K Jain from Punjab National Bank iN providing information on schemes to finance individuals from non- farm sector for entrepreneurial activities of maximum 10 lakhs. Extending loan facility under Trade Related Entrepreneurship Assistance and Development (TREAD) Scheme operated by Govt. Of India, MoMSME, to NGOs for on-lending to women, either through Self-Help Groups (SHGs) or individually for setting up small and micro enterprises in the non-farm sector. Sumedha Juneja, representative from Cue Learn gave an on the spot entrepreneurship opportunity to the audience which was to conduct Match and English trainings for school going students.

The participants seemed very enthused and inspired by the words and schemes shared and discussed. A lot can happen when a woman takes success in her own hands. In the end the word of thanks was given by Ruchi Maheshwari, Chair Person for COWE Uttar Pradesh Chapter.


COWE Chapters inauguration/Women Entrepreneurship Seminar on 3rd of September 2014

New Delhi, September 3rd

The Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs (COWE) is a NGO/Social organization engaged in the social and economic upliftment of women through entrepreneurship. Established in the year 2004, in Hyderabad, COWE after doing yeomen service to women entrepreneurs in the South, proudly established its New Delhi, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh Chapters today, in the capital at PHD Chamber of Commerce.

COWE's vision is to build a group of women who are economically empowered, valued citizens of the nation by awakening the dormant talent, skills, practical knowledge and resources of women and combining it with dedication and commitment.

COWE's mission is to enhance women's opportunities by creating a resource base of technical know-how, management, marketing skills, finance, infrastructure and equipment to promote entrepreneurship. The MoU’s for the chairperson of COWE Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand chapters were signed by the Tripti Shinghal Somani, Ruchi Maheshwari and Rita Somani respectively.

At the end of the day-long Women Entrepreneurship Seminar, over 100 budding women entrepreneurs were enlightened about COWE. A national NGO, and a partner in association of MSME which nurtures, creates, sustains, facilitates, strengthens and scales up women empowerment through various strategic ways like project financing, trade carnivals, marketing schemes, organizing seminars, training programs, workshops, etc.

Speaking at the inauguration Ms P. Saudamini, President of COWE, India said: “The slogan "Gearing women power" stands for the democratic structure of COWE and stands for “Of the women, for the women and by the women”. COWE was well represented by women from all walks of life.

The first session was devoted to Turning thoughts into plans. Our honorable chief guest Mrs Parvinder Sohi Behuria, NHRC (Retd. Secretary General) shared the principles of developing entrepreneurship Other eminent speakers on this panel included Vertika Dvivedi, founder Surfaces Reporter Management; Ishita Swarup, founder 99 labels; Seema Jajodia, founder Nourish Organic Foods; Lipika Sud, Interior Designer, Lipika Sud Interiors Pvt. Ltd.; and Ann Mustard, US Embassy, Head, Women Council IACC, enlightened the gathering on the pivotal issues faced by most women entrepreneurs. Speakers of this session answered questions on “How to put plan into an action. Getting systems and processes in place. Making the nebulous more objective and tangible and How to in-build growth into the structure”. This included Anita Vasudeva, Founder – Roving writers and Fleximoms called for more part-time jobs for women.

The second session dealt with Secret to success. Meeta Rai, Principal DPS School Indirapuram and Kanika Shori, CEO, Square Yards; were of the united opinion that “Great careers must be seeded, tended and grown.” They said that “For all the boardroom talk about women dropping out on way up and corporate gender gap, there are more women making it to the top than ever before. All this happens, when women take their success into their own hands, and take ownership of their achievements, development and ambition.”

In the next session Rashmi Singh, a civil servant and Convenor of National Forum for Action on Convergence, spoke about the ‘Benefits and Schemes for Women Entrepreneurs’. Niti Sethi, Company Secretary and Vigilance, National Small Industries Corporation took the session ahead with different schemes available to entrepreneurs across different sectors under NSIC. The session was followed by an interactive discussion with the audience.

The final session was headed by Archana Gupta, Director, KEI; Vinita Bakshi, Director, National Institute of Jewellery and founder Aambara Foundation, Shaiza Ilmi, Social and Political Activist and Sachin Marya, CEO & Publisher, Franchise India Holdings Limited; They spoke on ‘Overcoming the obstacles and Strategies to grow your business.’ In the end the vote of thanks was given by Ms Geeta Goti, Secretary COWE.
